Fox president of production Emma Watts confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Prometheus 2 is moving forward and may hit theatres in 2014 or 2015. Ridley Scott and Fox are actively pursuing the sequel on the strength of Prometheus’ box office take.

“Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can’t rush it,” Watts tells THR. Unfortunately, Prometheus co-scriptwriter Damon Lindelof’s involvement in the next movie is looking dim as he “might not be available”. But both Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace will make a return due to them being already contracted for the sequel where it has been often speculated the movie’s title will be Paradise.
