Stone set for new police headquarters in Capital Amaravati
AMARAVATI: DGP office to be constructed in Mangalagiri town
The Mangalagiri area is very safe in view of security and protection hence the police headquarters proposed at Mangalagiri.
Deputy Chief Minister and minister for home affairs N. Chinna Rajappa set foundation stone for the construction of AP DGP’s office at Mangalagri on saturday.He said that in view of security aspect and new capital establishment, Mangalagiri is preferable for police headquartere. He explained that already the APSP sixth battalion is situated at Mangalari for decades and this is the best place surrounded by the hills for the police headquarters and very near to the new capital Amaravati.
Mr Chinna Rajappa said that the building is proposed in 1,00,000 square feet area with G+5 buildings with Rs20 crore expenditure. Asserting on the need for swift completion of the building, he said that they targeted to complete the headquarters construction by January 2017. He announced that the construction of buildings for other wings of the police department would be started soon here. He said that Krishna Pushkaralu were successfully conducted under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
DGP. N. Sambasiva Rao said that the police department primarily started administration from AP and the total administration would be shidted to AP from he new headquaters. Minister for agriculture P Pulla Rao, minister for medical and health. K. Srinivas and minister for social welfare R. Kishore Babu said that DGP office construction is the first foundation-stone setting programme in the new capitalregion of Amaravati.
