In two different places Vijayawada and amaravathi two die in road accident and one killed, 4 hurt in road mshap.

VIJAYAWADA: Two people died in a road mishap near Screw Bridge in Vijayawada on the last day of Krishna Pushkaralu.

An over-speeding car with eight passengers on board hit the divider first and overturned on to service road while going back to Srikakulam from Vijayawada after completing Pushkar rituals. Paidi Venkata Ramana, 40, and Harshavardan, 11, died on spot while three others Bhulaxmi, Ammanamma. Mahesh were critically injured. P. Sharada, P. Appalaswami and Gnana Mourya received minor injuries.

All of them belong to the same family and deceased Venkata Ramana was driving the car. Police on Pushkar duties immediately shifted them to the hospital. The Chief Minister expressed grief over the incident and ordered the officials to see that better treatment be given to the injured. He also announced Rs3 lakh exgratia to the deceased family.

ONE KILLED, 4 HURT IN ROAD MSHAP

AMARAVATI: One person died on the spot and four Pushkar pilgrims were injured in a road accident at Varagani of Pedanandipadu mandal in Guntur district on Tuesday
According to the Pedanandipadu police, S. Madhubabu, M. Rama Subba Rao. M. Rajyalakhmi and M. Babitha belonging to Chinna Ganjamin Prakasam district went to Vijayawada for Krishna Pushkaralu.

After performing holy bath and Pinda Pradanam rituals they started to their village in a car. But the car driver K. Subba Reddy, 38, lost control over the vehicle when they reached Varagani village and the car dashed a tamarind tree on the edge of the road.

The car jumped into adjacent Mekala Vagu (stream) and driver died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries. The locals rushed to the spot and shifted the four pilgrims to the hospital for treatment.

The Pedanandipadu police registered a case and started investigation.
