Playback Singer P Susheela Entered Guinness Book of World Record

The Popular Playback Singer P Susheela has entered the prestigious Guinness Book of World Records for her greatest achievement of singing 17,695 songs. She has hugely sung in 6 regional languages. The record was confirmed as on 28th January 2016. This is the greatest achievement by Susheelamma. Truly this is the biggest reward for the legendary playback singer.

P Susheel’s playback singing career

Pulapaka Susheela 80, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, made her invasion into tinsel town in 1950 during an era when top artists like P. Leela, Jikki, M.L. Vasanthakumari were ruling the scene. Yet, Susheela made an imprint with her resonant and clear voice. Until now she has sung many of the super hit songs in Telugu and as well as in other languages.

P Susheela’s Awards and achievements

Susheela Amma was the main playback vocalist to get a national grant for Best Female Playback Singer in 1969 for the tune ‘Paal Polave’ from Sivaji starrer Tamil film ‘Uyarndha Manithan’ and later she won national honor four more times. She has likewise been recompensed the Padma Bhushan in 2008. Susheelamma has said that, until she got National award she doesn’t know about the National award. When she was appreciated with the award ahe felt so happy of the award. In a personal Interviews when she asked about , why she has not appeared in any film? She relied that she is not that much interested to visible on screen. However she had appeared in one P Sunder film a long back.

At a press conference Susheela said, “I thank all my directors, producers and composers who gave me a chance in my career. This honor should go to them”. She added that she has sung more than 40,000 songs in multiple languages but only 17 and odd numbers have been taken in the records.

“A group of ten people who have formed had sent my songs to the Guinness World Records and their efforts fetched me this honor”.
