Medical B category Counselling Controversy in NTR Health University

VIJAYAWADA SEPT.23: Another controversy (Medical B category Counselling) broke Out Over medical counselling as the NTR Health University rejected the option of sliding for the B category seats in Second phase counselling. The agitated parents are now planning to go to the court. They argue that it is nothing but denial of student’s right to compete to get the seat of their choice.

The latest Medical B category Counselling issue surfaced when the counselling for medical Seats started in Telangana. Some students who have taken admission in Andhra region are now opting out to Telangana. As a result, seats are getting vacant in various colleges. Now those who got admission at far away colleges in Andhra medical counselling Want to apply for Second phase counselling which is scheduled to start from September 24.

“My son got admission at Rajamundry for the rank he got in first phase counselling. Now there are some Vacant seats in NRI College at Managalagiri. But We don’t have the option to apply for the same in second phase counselling. Though my son got a better rank, he is now being denied to compete for the nearby college which would be convenient for us,” said an agitated parent who doesn’t want to be named.

However Vice-Chancellor of , NTRHU Dr T. Ravi Raju said that it is not possible to change (Medical B category Counselling) the college according to the norms. If anyone want to slide their seat into another college in the second phase counselling, they should first vacate the seat which they are already holding and participate in the counselling afresh, he added.
