Update on Prometheus 2. Noomi tells all

One of the most bickered about movies of last year was Ridley Scott’s “Alien” pseudo-prequel “Prometheus,” a gaudy, lumbering hulk of a movie with more moving parts than your father’s Chevy, it was a film that posed just as many questions as it answered and whose elliptical nature allured as many moviegoers as it repelled. Well, it was still something of a hit, and it appears work is moving ahead on a sequel, at least according to “Prometheus” leading lady Noomi Rapace.
Catching up the actress as she did press rounds for “Dead Man Down,” when we asked where she was in the “Prometheus 2″ process, she said, “They’re working on the script. I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It’s just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will.”
We then asked about her thoughts on the reaction to the film – the endless speculation, theories, and essays that bloomed in the wake of “Prometheus.” She began by describing her experience on the first film. “I love working with Ridley. It was pure joy,” she said. “It was really hard work sometimes. My body was a complete mess – I had bruises and cuts and emotionally I was a bit slammed. But being in his world and his universe was such an amazing experience.”
She then implied that the speculative angles are things she would like to see influence the sequel. “And it’s interesting because people, most people I’ve talked to who see the movie, see things that are quite different. Some people who see the movie many times and discover new things. There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations,” Rapace explained. “And for me, if we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue.” She added: ” I would love to do it.”
But, we had to ask, since original screenwriter Damon Lindelof (who took the original script, a more straightforward prequel, into all those loopy directions) isn’t coming back (he’s got an HBO series in the works and that super-mysterious Disney thing “Tomorrowland”), have they hired a writer? “You would have to ask someone at the studio about who the writer is.” We prodded — was she sure she can’t squeal? “No!” she chirped back.
More from our conversation with Noomi Rapace soon. “Dead Man Down” opens on March 8th.

onward to Paradise
at last, some news!
Keep us all posted if anything new develops.
i dont think any sequal will happen. Ridley has other stuff to do and seeing how Prmetheus turned out they wont be worth waiting for.
Prometheus made far more money than other resent films that generated sequels and has a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than The Hobbit.
The sequel is guaranteed.
Where incest rape for haters now Harry gone?
Me no likey! Who go to make me feel idiot today?
Retards fail at retardation. Me go listen to white noise.
While Prometheus was largely a letdown and it looks like the sequel is moving ahead, I’m thrilled the writer is gone. He totally screwed up the story. As I’ve mentioned before, the story had too many downright stupid scenes. For instance, from the movie’s opening. You’ve got a supposedly advanced civilization capable of interstellar travel yet they can only disperse their DNA by painfully destroying themselves? How advanced is that? When I saw that, I knew I was going to be in for a difficult sitting at the theatre.
But alas, that writer is gone. Good riddance. Hopefully, Ridley can find a writer with some real intelligence.
Nope.
Lindelof was a great writer, but only did what Scott told him to.
And the sacrifice of creating life is an Honor.
It looks like you didn’t understand the film at all.
So speak for yourself instead of lying about others opinions.
Good riddance to you.
“Lindelof was a great writer, but only did what Scott told him to.”
So it was ridley’s idea for lindelof to turn the prometheus script into the same messy childish pseudo-intellectual bullshit that lindelof ALWAYS writes?
Well that was a bad call ridley,
a BAD call
Cool
Anything to keep him away from a bladerunner sequel
yeah, you really need to pull your carrot out of Lindelof’s ass fanboy. This guy is a joke of a screenwriter. We all got the religious themes, if you think this is what the made the movie good, may god have pity on your soul.
stuff it
I agree, Lindelof will never touch another Alien film again. That poor bastard took so much criticism from the hardcore Alien fans, he really is a douchebag. Ridley is just as much as responsible, since Lindelof stated that Ridley had his hands tied. What a cop out! I hate him as much as I hate the Prometheus fanboys on this site. They hired a good writer for this sequel and I can’t wait to find out who it is.
It’s not a copout if it’s true, retard.
Just ignore people like him brother. He’s just another one of those fagots who insists on coming to a site to shoot off his immature mouth. Coming to a site dedicated too a film he claims to hate. He hates fans of the film, because obviously, only his opinion matters, and only he can see the true value of the films. He is : The TRUE Fan : only he can see the art throughout the ALIEN saga, the way they should be directed, and what should have been done. I bet he’s great at writing too, and drawing, and film making. I mean, a guy with that type of insight into what should be done , has to be…right. He belongs up their with all the other queers that come here to bash the film, bash the fans of the film, and of course, bash Riddle’s and the EVIL Damion L. Because it is DL, who he views ruined his life. He knows DL is a douche bag, and should die, because again, he is the only true fan of ALIEN with the only valid opinion on the matter.
I love the way even Noomi is being asked for her creative input into P2 – is Fox up that deep a shit creek?
