NECA’s Prometheus Engineer action figure packaged and ready to go
Just moments ago, NECA unveiled their Prometheus “Chair Suit” Engineer in full packaging from their Series 1 line up. The backboard of the packaging shows the image of the corpses of Engineers that were all bunched up together against the wall. Check it out below.

Suited Engineers are pretty badass.
As you probably guessed I was thinking of the chair suit. I hope we get to see more of them in motion in the sequel, not just in the chair, in blurry holograms or as statues and corpses.
I want more action figure and ship toys for the first Prometheus Movie to come out Christmas 2012.
I really like the look of the suited engineer….it looks ominous. I am still a little disappointed that they are humanoid beneath the suit. I think it would have been better to keep them as Alien as possible. Lindelof thought this idea of Spaihts was BS as well but eventually gave in and went with it. This is what he said at Comic Con anyway. Anyways, looks good.
Although it’s possible Spaihts came up with the idea of the unsuited Engineers being humanoids, Scott has been saying it’s a biomechanical suit for decades. There are even Giger designs for the first movie depicting it as such. That was always the answer to why it looked like it had grown out of the chair.
In that respect it is not a retcon, but of course whether it was a good idea to begin with is a matter of opinion.

thanks for your reply and yes I am aware of the biomechanical suit. I just was expecting something different. I think if you ask most Alien fans this….they were also surprised. However, the trailers kind of gave it away before I even saw the film. I think movie trailers these days show way too much.
