Leaked Images of the Jockey Head
Site Info: Our v2 news site is no longer in service. Old articles have been merged here. Henceforth minor and major Prometheus news will be consolidated on this site only. Now back to our regular news:
Earlier today Cinemart posted images of what they claimed to be a prop in Prometheus. Comparing the prop images to the reference pic below, we can safely say this is the same design as the head that appeared in the trailer but without the paint details. Many have speculated that this head (or helmet to others) is that of the Space Jockey.

In related news: Ridley Scott had this to say while talking with MTV:
“I have to redesign the elements that led to the thing you finally see in Alien, which is the face hugger…I don’t want to repeat it. The alien in a sense as a shape is worn out..maybe we’ll come up with something different. What we’re trying to do is squeeze in two prequels…if you explain who he was and where he came from then you want to find out where they came from and you might was to go to this place where his people come from. “ Source
the prop piece and the one in the new trailer just doesnt look anything like the one in A L I E N.
Oh shit that is too frickin funny. LMAO!!
Hope so… it makes no sense to me that the SJ is a biosuit for humanoid aliens. Does humankind arrive in the middle of a Halloween style fancy dress ball or something? Sure Viscal is joking but the suit thing does scream ridiculous retcon and “The Prometheus Menace” would be “real nasty”… Ridley wouldn’t have been lying on that one.
the engineer looks awesome. i dont know what u’re on about
it looks like a cross between the facehugger and a jockey and and alien, interesting.
Having seen the trailer, I thought it was interesting that the Jockey head/helmet/skull on the lab table seemed significantly smaller than the head of the Jockey in the original Alien movie. I know Ridley’s kids were used to create a greater sense of scale in the long shots but visually, the original head was larger in scale than a Nostromo crew member wearing a space helmet. It will be interesting to see how this turns out scale wise.
I never noticed this but if you look at the Prometheus shot of the head/mask you can see it’s got eyes/lenses in the sockets.
Don’t freak out yet. No one knows how long the Jockey from Alien had been sitting there and I’m betting that not all of the Jockey’s are the exact same size.
It’s OBVIOUSLY supposed to be a “Space Jockey”, but c’mon, you can’t expect the EXACT same sculpt, unless it was plasticized off of the Original Mold…another thing the “fossilized” SJ has has mouth slack(open) like a corpse would be, the other is a “fresher” specimen…just something to consider…
*CORRECTION*-”another thing the “fossilized” SJ has HIS* mouth slack(open) like a corpse would be”
