I think the way the film was marketed was misleading. Everyone thought they were getting something very dark and scary like Alien. But what we really got was a film that was not trying to be Alien and that is unique in it’s own way.

I agree totally, hell to me ALL the Alien/Predator films fit just fine together even Prometheus, and yes even the AvPs (could have been better obviously but even those films have their moments), I consider everything in the 10 films canon (if it’s on screen it exists so you can’t turn time back), hell none of them contradict each other in any way if you analyze it from an intelligent point of view, even the Prometheus websites and viral videos mention Weyland Industries, but I totally respect anyone who sees it differently, that’s why it’s fiction not fact. And no I’m not 17 lol I’m 42 and a huge fan if A L I E N and ALIENS fan. But just like real life not all events will be perfect and up to your expectation but they exist nonetheless.

Dude a lot of them have said very valid defenses that make a hell of a lot more sense than the garbage you’ve been barking…is the movie perfect? No, is any movie perfect? Hell no, but it is indeed a well made movie, definitely WAAYYY better than most films that come out, for instance the way the Engineers were brought to life was phenomenal, and all the answers it provided, all the traditional Space Jockey lore is there plus awesome new stuff, the mentioning of the ‘cargonhold’ there are so many little details…. Problem is people now days wan movies to think for them instead of thinking for themselves

I didn’t want aliens nor an origins story. I wanted the backstory of the weyland-yutani company discovering the jockey species while beginning to terraform planets. This was eluded to in alien. I think spaights script was along those lines until that pos lindelof ruined it.
Be patient dude wait for the sequels, you’ll see more of what you want, all in all Prometheus is the perfect Space Jockey film, it explained so much without being literal. I think it was a brilliant addition to the Alien series and to the whole Alien/Predator universe in general.
If you don’t like the movie, that’s fine, but you don’t have to be so rude to people who do.

Sorry Avp is non canon to me and it was nothing more than commerce like Ridley Scott mentioned in numerous interviews. I feel spaights script was the right script but we will never know.
To me everything on the movies is canon…and in reality canon doesn’t even exist, everyone’s got they’re own opinion on the films (like it should be since it’s a fictional universe) but I don’t know dude, Jon’s script was filled with xenomorphs, it would have just been Alien 5 instead of a Jockey film, but like I said wait for the sequels man…the sequels will surely include more Aliens.
I dont know man, unless lindelof is out than I expect the same schtick. The only thing I loved about this was the viral campaign, especially the young guys eland character. The Ted talk was amazing and never showed up in the film. Yeah, you won’t see any ties to Avp, Ridley has made that clear that only the first two films are canon.
Like I said I found Prometheus very enjoyable, everything included, wouldn’t mind a new writer, oh fuck yeah TED talk was great, but they mentioned way earlier that it wasn’t going to be part of the film…and I think it has many ties to AvP more than most people think (especially in the viral videos) but yeah I know what Ridley said but FOX has the final word and it really doesn’t bother me counting them all together, I respect some don’t, personally like I said to me all 10 films fit great but I ain’t got no issue if you or anyone else doesn’t want to count them, that’s why it’s made for fun.

Looked the same to me, look at the mural, same shape as the deacon. I think there is an evolution of the xenomorph and face hugger that leads to the one in alien
