Close-up Look at “Alternate Fifield” from Prometheus
A page from one of the latest Cinefex magazine shows a new still of a design of Fifield (played by Sean Harris) that was filmed but not used in the theatrical version of Prometheus. This still was taken from an alternate cut of the garage fight scene that we know there will be 2 minutes and 1 seconds worth (“Fifield Attacks”) of footage as part of the upcoming Blu-ray release of the movie. Check out the pics below. Thanks to PrometheusForum user BonuSituation for the image! Source: Cinefex.

OH HELLZ YES
much better than the theatrical version fifield design. bah
nope
yep
ugh never
agreed
he looks like my ex boyf
yes, it should have been used
no way
thats the funny thing about this movie…I gurantee that all the deleted footage they cut out of this film….it would have been a different film.
a worse film
anybody who says that the theatrical cut is perfect…….is lying…especially after seeing this. The black goo has xenofantastic properties!
no it would have been CGI mess
nope it would have been better..cgi mixed with practical is the way to go
which is why the Babyhead they used looked awesome
this is a monkey cartoon. looks no more real than Rise of Planet of the Apes
That’s not me!!
Wow, that is more frightening than the Fifeld humanoid!!! They should have stuck with this, it’s much better!
looks like a cartoon character =P
reminds me of mars attacks
Or a video game. Could be from a Resident Evil game or movie (that’s not a compliment).
Yeah, they should have went with this version instead.
It was removed (*as per Lidelof himself in an interview) because it was deemed “too obvious” as to what he was mutating into.
yeah god forbid…if he actually would look like a xenomorph in a pseudo prequel to Alien. lol
spinoff
If people could just turn straight into xenos after black goo infection that would kinda make the whole elaborate lifecycle redundant, wouldn’t it? The complex and horrific lifecycles are one of the defining characteristics of this franchise, having them just become xenos would be a big letdown.
100% agreed. I don’t think they’ll mess with the brilliant life cycle though, take the Deacon Alien he had the same life cycle (at least a good 75%-80% of it which is understandable since he was an earlier ‘model’ of the Aliens we know.)
That’s not me either!!
The black goo is the engineers biological weapon. The Xenomorph is just one facet of what this black goo can produce. As such, the Xenomorph eventually mutates to what we see in Alien. Nobody knows exactly how this stuff is supposed to work. All we saw in Prometheus is that it can morph worms into Cobra huggers, mutates people into mad fuckin zombies. Also when you consume it, it can morph a person into a prune and impregnate your girlfriend with a squid like facehugger. Am I missing anything here. Personally, it wouldn’t have hurt to show Fifield with more of a Xenomorph appearance. I don’t know about you but this movie could have used a little more gore and suspense.
Can you not get yourself a unique identity??
i think that scene was too short in the film
The most disappointing thing about Prometheus…..it was a victim of editing like Alien 3 was. All just to squeeze the movie in 2 hours to get more people in seats to make money. The film deserved to be at least 30 minutes longer. I didn’t hate Prometheus but it could have expanded the story a little bit. I think what really irritated me the most was the beginning in how it setup that great scene with the engineers. Next, we meet Shaw and Holloway and the next thing they are on the Prometheus in hypersleep. There was minimal introduction of Weyland Industries and how they assembled the team for this journey. I know a lot of it was on the Weyland website but it needed to be in the film. Now, if the sequel shows some of this which I doubt it will it would be great. The pacing of this film was way off and it was mostly due to editing.
Now this is me. Totally agree with Primus. The Assembly cut of Alien 3 turns an ok film into a masterpiece. Prometheus pacing way off and editing hacks away at a lot of detail.
